Former Vishwa Hindu Parishad chief, Pravin Togadia will be on hunger strike from April 17. He will be having an indefinite hunger strike as people in power have forgotten about the construction of the Ram temple in Ayodhya.
He has announced this in a press meet in Ahmedabad. He said that people after having the drink of power have forgotten the promise of constructing Ram temple. In last four years, people who want to work for Hindutva have been seriously suppressed. Without taking any name, he criticized people in power.
It has been noticed that the political arm of RSS, BJP has put this issue of Ram temple in Ayodhya on the backburner and working on wooing all communities with the promise of development.
Togadia first resigned from the post as his close aide lost the presidential elections of Vishwa Hindu Parishad. Now, this hunger strike announcement came after his virtual ouster from Vishwa Hindu Parishad.
On Saturday, Raghava Reddy lost against VS Kokje. Critics are seeing this defeat as Togadia’s losing grip over the Sangh Parivar. Now, his harsh criticism of the Narendra Modi government has proved the decreasing support to him from the Sangh Parivar.
After the shocking loss in VHP internal poll, Togadia said he will work at his best level to send the message to each and every village. Yes, I am no more with the Parishad now, but thousands of members are still with me. People in power have hurt the sentiments of one billion Hindus by false promises.
However, people near to him have shared that he is going to launch another outfit named as ‘Hindu First’. Several VHP workers have resigned along with him in last 24 hours.
