After a troublesome period of 85 days agitation, Manipur University is now finally open. A recent release signed by Prof. W. Vishwanath Singh, the vice chancellor in-charge, MU has declared this. Along with this, the results of the sixth-semester examinations of affiliated colleges and that of semester examinations of PG courses have also been announced.
Yes, that much needed academic atmosphere in MU is gradually returning. An announcement regarding the admission processes for the MA and M.Sc. courses have also been done.
In this recent release, VC in-charge also made an appeal for co-operation to have a normal academic atmosphere and preserving the sanctity of Manipur University. Prof. W. Vishwanath Singh mentioned, “Let us join hands to proceed in all respects to achieve our objectives!”
By releasing another notification, the VC in-charge Prof. W. Vishwanath Singh also nullified any previous order regarding transit office.
This notification stated that there is no provision for the opening of a transit office outside the University campus as per Manipur University Act 2005. Hence, all the teachers, officers and non-teaching staff who are supposed to work in the Manipur University campus should attend office in the campus for their official duties.
