On Wednesday, Several JAC executives, Human Rights Alert Executive Director Babloo Loitongbam and Meira Paibee leaders have gone to meet Chief Minister N.Biren Singh. They were there in support of Pravish Chanam family. This meeting of CM and Pravish Chanam family members was in the CM office.
During this meeting, N.Biren Singh told them that the State Government is sincerely concerned about the safety of Manipuri youth studying in other states. His government is working on developing a policy framework in this regard too.  The same policy will then also be shared with Union Home Ministry within a week time period.
In case of Pravish Chanam, his family urged Chief Minister N.Biren Singh to personally talk with UP Chief Minister, Yogi Adityanath and asked him to hand over this case to CBI.
The Chief Minister had a telephonic talk with the UP Chief Minister. Yogi Adityanath answered that this case had already been given to CBI. UP CM had written a letter dated 27.09.2017 for the relevant processing in this case. Chief Minister N.Biren Singh shared about this discussion with Pravish Chanam family.
Pravish Chanam, a Manipuri youth was found dead in Noida, Uttar Pradesh under suspicious circumstances. He had come to the capital on a visit and he was residing with his friends in Safdarjung, Delhi. Pravish was in Noida for a music concert held in Knowledge Park on 8th September 2017. He was with his friends in this concert. He was missing after this music concert and later, he was found dead in Noida.Like any other case, Noida Police invested in this case too. But, this investigation had strongly pointed towards the partial investigation. The shoddy inquiry by Noida Police had made victim’s family to demand for CBI investigation.
