In Moreh town, one Myanmar national was arrested last evening in a joint operation done by Narcotic Affairs and Border (NAB) and a team of police comprising of different districts. This man was carrying drugs worth over Rs. 25 lakhs. This Myanmar national has been identified as U. Zaw Lin, 33 years, son of U. Mew Maung of Ein Chin Myain, Phawng of Pynmyo, Myanmar.
Police spokesperson shared with the press that this Myanmar national was arrested around 7 pm near Shree Angala Parmeshwari and Shree Muneeswar Temple, Moreh ward no. 2. The police team recovered 30 packets of heroine no. 4 weighing 410.7 gm and 298 tablets of WY tablets having an estimated value of Rs. 25,08,900 in the international market.
This operation was led by DSP commando, Moreh Thomas Thokchom and inspector P. Tarunkumar Sigh (OC) Moreh. He was handed over to Moreh police station. A case under NDPS Act has been registered against U. Zaw Lin, the Myanmar national.
