Bhartiya Janta Party is coming up as the single largest party and JDS going to set the wind of forthcoming governance in the state. However, counting of votes is still under way in Karnataka. Till now, BJP is on 106 seats while Congress is on 72. JDS has been limited to 40 seats only.
This is a huge win delivered by Modi for his party and a good sign for the next year’s national level election. Karnataka is facing a hung assembly situation. As per reports, Siddaramaiah has extended congress support for JDS to form the next government in the state.
Speaking to the media, BJP’s candidate BS Yeddyurappa has said that he ‘welcomes the mandate of the people of Karnataka’. Any word about government formation is not possible as we still don’t have the final tally.
