Governor, Najma Heptullah met the media to take stock of the present developments at her Raj Bhavan office on Tuesday afternoon.
The governor was asked pointedly about allowing the BJP to form the government in Manipur with only 21 MLAs. Governor replied, “The matter is beyond redemption and what has happened has happened.”
She further shared that if Ibobi had come to her first with documents, she would have invited him to form the government. Karnataka had a different issue and one should not compare it with the situation of those days in Manipur.
On deliberation of the Manipur University imbroglio, the governor said that this matter is the prerogative of the Centre. About the military camp in University campus, she said that the camp was there because of the insurgency factor.
About the future of the state, she said that Manipur deserves to be known in the country and abroad. She had met many entrepreneurs and specialists in India and abroad, and had intimated them about the state and also, the potential that it offers.
