The chief judicial magistrate, Imphal West remanded a man to police
custody for seven days for allegedly murdering his wife. Yesterday, the
husband identified as Laishram Oken was arrested by the police. He had
been absconding after committing the crime.
In this case, nephew of the victim lodged a complaint. Deceased wife,
Laisham ongbi Lanchenbi was beaten to death in their rented house.
Nephew has given the statement that he rushed to the spot after being
informed of this incident. He found his aunt lying on bed with lots of
blood around her.
The investigation officer submitted in the court that police needs time
for through interrogation of the accused and also for the collection of
more evidence. Considering this, the court ordered for remand of the
accused to seven days police custody.
