Yesterday, ‘Mission for economic empowerment of traditional artisans and craftsmen (MEETAC)’ was launched with a grand ceremony held at Hotel Imphal’s Sangai Hall. Governor Najma Heptulla, Chief Minister N. Biren Singh and Minister of Textiles, Commerce and Industries, Th. Biswajit Singh was present in the launch of MEETAC.
A brief presentation of MEETAC was given by MEETAC CEO Anurag Bajpai. One MOU was also signed between MEETAC and National Institute of Design and other expert institutions.
While addressing the gathering CM said that the launching of ‘MEETAC’ is a new chapter for the state. Change in the society with a development is the aim of the government. Manipur CM also praised the governor and said the state is very lucky to have a governor like her.  
Speaking at the ceremony, Governor Najma Heptulla stated that our state is truly filled with arts and crafts but there is not much exposure in the market. These arts and crafts of the state should be protected, revived, documented and most importantly setting up a market for them.
