While speaking at the ‘Transforming Urban Landscape’ event, Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that this government is here to develop a system for the lives of upcoming generations based on five Es – ease of living, education, employment, economy and entertainment.
On Saturday, PM was addressing the gathering in the event that was happened to the celebrated 3rd anniversary of three key government initiatives; Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban), Atal Mission for Rejuvenation of Urban Transformation (AMRUT) and Smart Cities Mission
Modi further added that the government will ensure house for everyone by 2022. Center government has approved 54 lakh houses for people in cities and provided more than one crore houses to the poor in villages.
The PM said, “All the houses in this housing scheme are registered in the name of a woman member of the family or jointly. Thus, it is also working as a means of women empowerment.”

Citing the example of people who gave up their LPG subsidy and concessional rail fare, PM Modi said people were always willing to contribute to the nation’s development provided the government reposed faith in them. 46 beneficiaries of this housing scheme have now progressed in their lives and they had given up these houses too. They did this so that these houses could be made available to another needy family.
During his speech, Modi also launched a scathing attack on Akhilesh Yadav and said, “I remember how I had to write letters and talk personally to the earlier government, requesting them to avail the Central government’s fund to provide houses to the poor. But, they were too busy in decorating their own bungalows to think of giving houses to the poor.”
Prime Minister also visited an exhibition on ‘Flagship Missions of Urban Development’ and interacted with 35 women beneficiaries of PMAY (U). Union home minister Rajnath Singh, governor Ram Naik and chief minister Yogi Adityanath were also present with him.
