It is medically proven that sugary drinks in your daily diet can lead you to tooth decay, obesity and type 2 diabetes. You might be aware of this knowledge talking. But, you might have never worried about the impact of these beverages in your day to day diets. Have you ever thought about this?
A glass of cola – A 12-ounce serving of Coca-cola / Pepsi comes with approximately 10 teaspoons of sugar. In a report, WHO had recommended for consuming no more than 6 teaspoons of sugar in a day to be in shape and active in your day to day lives. However, that single can of cold drink is serving the quantity of sugar, well above the recommendation of WHO.
Centres for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) pointed that around half of the US population drink all these sugary beverages in their day to day lives. And, most of them are teenagers and young adults. Certainly, these cold drinks (Coca-cola / Pepsi) are going to lead you to bad health conditions. Harvard School of Public Health reported in an analysis that people who drink 1-2 cans of cold drinks daily got more type 2 diabetes.
A British pharmacist Niraj Naik had shared an infographic based on research by health writer Wade Meredith. He shared that anyone will vomit after having such high sugar content, but the existing phosphoric acid in the cold drink (Coca-cola, Pepsi, etc) dulls the sweetness and people are able to drink it.
As you have that can of cold drink, blood sugar level of your body increases within next twenty minutes. And, it damages insulin too. Your liver turns this high sugar circulating throughout the body into fat tissues.
In next more 20 minutes, the body absorbs the existing volume of caffeine in the cold drink. As a result, the adenosine receptors in the brain got blocked. Your body holds higher blood pressure too.
Five minutes later, the dopamine production got a reasonable boost. As a result, you will get a sigh of pleasure. All these Coca-Cola and Pepsi sort of cold drink stimulate centres of the brain. It is almost an impact of having heroin, making us to have another cold drink can.
After 60 minutes, a sugar crash will occur within your body and cause drowsiness. You will be bound to pee and the water content of these cola drinks will be cleared from your body along with necessary nutrient elements.
According to Niraj Naik, his infographic is having a can of Coca-Cola but tells a story of all these cold drinks, Coca-Cola, Pepsi, etc.
He marked this point, “Coke is not just high in high fructose corn syrup, but it also comes with salts and caffeine. If you are having daily consumption of these ingredients, you should be ready for higher blood pressure, heart disease, diabetes and obesity.”
