On Wednesday, black flags having words “IS NE” was seen by residents of Assam’s Goalpara town. In the nearby area of the Brahmaputra River, there were such flags over the trees. Locals were in fear and panic about the existence of any Islamic State terror group.
One resident shared about this incident, “I come to this area and spotted three black flags flown over the tree. On that flag, ‘IS NE’ was written. Hence, I immediately called the police.”
However, Police said that these flags do not resemble to the flag of any terror group. Goalpara Superintendent of Police Amitabh Sinha said, “Those were different sort of flags. However, we seized all those black flags. Yes, black flags were having some Urdu and Arabic words over them. These words were hand printed. We have started a further investigation about this miscreant activity.”
