According to a recently released statement by NITI Aayog, around 31.1 lakh new additions across all age groups were made in the payroll. Central Government’s first-ever estimate of payroll count based on Employees’ Provident Fund Organisation (EPFO) data showed that Over 31 lakh new employees were added to the retirement fund body in last six months.
Soumya Kanti Ghosh, chief economist, the State Bank of India (SBI) has shared her point of view over this statement and said, “The data shows there was a good increase in jobs every month in the last six months, which will now help fill the missing link for policy-making.”
