There is a steep rise of 67.9% in road accident fatalities within last one year. On Sunday, Chief Minister N Biren Singh has expressed concern over this. He shared that the Supreme Court Committee on Road Safety (CoRS) has seriously viewed the matter and directed the state government to formulate an action plan about it.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh also urged the public to bring the accident victims to the nearest hospital without any fear.
CM further informed media that the state government is having necessary steps. One of which is about checking use of fake driving licenses. The state government is also trying to contain re-registration of stolen vehicles purportedly brought from other states. The existing state health services authority had also been advised to make available its ambulances to accident victims through a common toll free number.
