Supreme Court has just ordered for having floor test in Karnataka Assembly tomorrow at 4 pm. In the much talked political drama, this is the time for BS Yeddyurappa to prove the ability to have governance in the state.
Friday morning, the three-judge bench of the Supreme Court was hearing a petition filed by the Congress-JD(S) combine against the decision of Governor Vajubhai Vala.
Earlier in the day, Honorable Supreme Court has asked Mukul Rohatgi, senior advocate defending BJP, to produce the letters, BS Yeddyurappa wrote to the Governor on Wednesday. Mukul Rohatgi reads out from BSY’s letter to Governor – “I have the support of others and requisite majority.”
The SC told Rohatgi while Yeddyurappa’s letter didn’t disclose names while another side was having signed letter from supporting MLAs. Senior Advocate Rohatgi presented the point about “unholy alliance” between the Congress and the JD(S).
The bench was not satisfied with given remarks and said that ultimately it is the number game.
Supreme Court asked that can we have the floor-test happening tomorrow. Mukul Rohatgi opposed this thought and asked for the time till Monday. However, Supreme Court has ordered for having floor test tomorrow at 4 pm.
