Manipur government is also keeping eye on the release of the final draft of National Register of citizen (NRC) in Assam. The state police department has taken up some sincere security measures in the borders districts of Jiribam and Senapati.
It has been shared in an official statement of the government that Jiribam district is quite near to the border of Assam and this place is most vulnerable too. Hence, maximum forces are deployed to meet the situation effectively.
The district police of Jiribam, 25 personnel from 7 IRB, 9 commando teams, two company of MR/IRB, two company of CRPF, 30 women police personnel are being used. Along with them, two section of 5 MR has also been deployed at Vangaichungpao railway station to check illegal entries.
In Senapati, the district police have also deployed district police personnel and CRPF and IRB personnel at Mao.
State security forces are also using boats in their patrolling operations. However, there was no arrest till the posting of this report.
