Director Omung Kumar is all set to work on another sports drama. It is supposed to be named as “Yubi Lakpi”. In this project, he will once again collaborate with producer Sandeep Singh. Yubi Lakpi is a local Manipuri sport and quite similar to rugby.
The duo Omung and Sandeep Singh have also earlier worked together in two Bollywood movies, “Mary Kom” and “Sarbjit.
Director Omung Kumar told that he has been working on the project for the past two years. Not many people are aware that India plays Rugby. With Yubi Lakpi, our attempt will be for tracing the journey of the Indian rugby team. Well, our work on the story of this project is still not complete. As we complete it, we will begin shooting.
Producer Sandeep Singh said that Omung has all the needed skills to do wonders with sports dramas. Our attempt will be of telling the story of rugby to the people of this country. Filming is expected to start next year and it will be in Manipur and London too.
