On Wednesday, Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh said in the State Assembly that NIA will be probing about the three bomb blasts which were exploded in High Security Areas of the capital.
On January 15, the first grenade was blasted inside the army office. This office is pretty near to the Raj Bhawan. Within next few minutes, another was blasted a few meters away. In this bomb blast, a woman got injured. On last Monday night, two more grenades were exploded at the Polo Ground army camp in Imphal that injured two troopers. CM doubted about the sentry turrets in the high security zone of army office.
The Chief Minister said that the safety pins of the grenades were found within the boundary wall.
Chief Minister N. Biren Singh said that pins of grenades were seen inside the army area. Hence, official speculation is about the act done within the area of army office. Grenades were not thrown from outside the wall.
CM further added although there was no such movement seen near the Polo Ground area when investigation team checked available CCTV footages.
Then this Tuesday, twin blasts have injured nine more troopers. Two hand grenades were lobbed by unidentified persons over the wall. This was the explosive plan for causing hassle inside the transit camp of Assam Rifles.
Sources said that Chief Minister had urged Home Minister Rajnath Singh for taking intensive action and order for a NIA probe about January 15 blasts at the army camp.
Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh said inside the State Assembly that such situation is incomprehensible to the state government and thus, we approached central government for an NIA probe. Home Minister has also conceded this request.
