Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad Sangma shared with the media persons that state government is in the process of finalising the sites for the National Games 2022. The government made a lot of headway into the project and it also has fast-tracked everything.
However, Chief Minister also admitted about existing bottlenecks like getting land funds, but he told that state is also in talks for investment which will come from the centre of government.
He added that state government has already floated the expression of interest for consultants for the mega event, besides starting the process to identify land. Over 14 thousand athletes and officials are expected to come during this event. Certainly, the state government would require a fund to develop sporting facilities, Games villages, roads, water supply and even hotel rooms.
