Yesterday, CM N. Biren Singh addressed a press conference held at CM’s Secretariat. He said that the state government has written to the Centre to clear doubts in the minds of the general public regarding a recent allegation of shifting of the main Border Pillar no. 81. He said that we urged for sending a survey team to conduct verification on the positions of subsidiary pillars between main Border Pillar no. 80 to 82 on the India-Myanmar boundary.
The CM also showed old boundary maps of Manipur and Myanmar to make clear that there has been no alteration in the location of Border Pillar no. 81 so far.
Regarding Manipur University strike issue, the CM said that he would meet Union Human Resources Development minister, Prakash Javadekar to discuss the situation of the varsity on Friday. The state cabinet is certainly not taking this issue lightly.
