Last night, a major fire broke has made district official to seal the India-Myanmar border. On Thursday night, this accidental fire broke happened just near to the international gate in Myanmar. Around Nine in the night, people rushed out at the Namphalong market and sprinkled water on the houses and shops. Police in Moreh in Manipur said that the nearby market complex has been indefinitely closed down. People feared that raging inferno might spread over to the Indian side too.
Namphalong market is the main area for the legalised border trade between India-Myanmar.  It was a big fire accident and it took several hours to douse the fire flames. However, there is no report of any casualty. According to a Namphalong officer, around thirty shops were gutted in this accidental fire.
Most of these shops were having expensive foreign goods brought from Japan, China and some other Southeast Asian countries. Till posting this report, reason behind this fire was unknown.
