On Friday, two days celebration programme of Kang Kumhei (Rath Yatra) was inaugurated at Jawaharlal Nehru Manipur Dance Academy.
Padmashree awardee, H. Thanil was the chief guest of this event. In his speech, he said that this event has a positive objective of preserving as well as promoting Manipur’s rich culture and tradition. Rath Yatra is one of the major festivals of Manipuri Vaishnavites. Unfortunately, this rich tradition is gradually dying. Hence, we all need to take appropriate steps to preserve it.
This function was also attended by various gurus who are excelled in the field of art and culture and vice-chairman of JNMDA, prof. H. Tombi Singh.
