Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union home minister Rajnath Singh will soon visit Manipur. Considering these visits, high security measures have been taken by the state government. PM will be in Imphal on March 16 to inaugurate the 105th Indian Science Congress. Modi will be inaugurating various projects in Manipur. He will also inaugurate the project for National Sports University in the state.
On March 15, Union Home Minister will be in the state to attend the first anniversary celebration of state government. Rajnath Singh will also inaugurate the integrated check post constructed at the Moreh town. This ICP is along the Indo-Myanmar border.
The Union Home Minister will be in Imphal to be in the anniversary celebration of the BJP led Manipur government.  BJP president, Amit Shah is also going to attend this program organised by the BJP Manipur Pradesh.
Considering Home minister’s visit, high security alert has been beefed up in town areas near Moreh border. On Friday, police conducted a huge combing operation in the nearby area of the concerned check post. Moreh police have done a door to door verification in nearby villages of Khonophai, Siang Veng and Mauriang. This team of Moreh police and police commando of the district have reportedly rounded up 120 villagers for verification. However, there is no news of arrest by this team.
Tengnoupal SP Dr. S Ibomcha told that this operation was vital as it was related to the proposed visit of the Union Home Minister. Home Minister Rajnath Singh will inaugurate the integrated check post constructed at the Moreh town of Tengnoupal district. This operation will continue for few more days and security measures have also been beefed up at the border area.
In the search operation held in Thoubal, report of an arrest Md. Amalatula by Lilong Police has come.  Police have recovered two double barrel guns and a single barrel gun along with cartridges from him. He was not having any valid documents for possessing the guns. One scooter without any registration was also recovered from him.
In another checking by state police and Assam Rifles, Maibam Ningthem Singh 42, resident of Yairipok Malom Mayai Leikai was apprehended. This search was operated in Leirongthel Lamkhai area. This man is identified as self-style sgt. major of PLA. One IED weighing 5.6 kg was recovered from him. During interrogation, he disclosed about another self-style sgt. Major of RPF identified as Khumanthem Amujao, 33, resident of Nongbram Awang Leikai. Nongbram Awang Leikai was also apprehended by the state police.
As a result of another search operation conducted at Kairang Muslim Chingya Leikai, Imphal East, 20 persons were picked up by the search team. Among these twenty, five was bailout people; another five was not having proper land documents. Other ten people were living there without proper identification proof.
In Langthabal Kunja Leikai, Imphal West, another search operation was conducted. However, there was no negative concern in this house to house search operation.
