Yesterday, several opposition parties have supported the Bharat Bandh called by the Congress and Left Front over rising fuel prices. Representatives from Janata Dal-Secular (JD-S), Samajwadi Party (SP), DMK, Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and Maharashtra Navanirman Sena (MNS) have come in public domain to support this call for Bharat Bandh.
However, parties like BJD, AAP and TMC said that it would not be in support of this call for Bharat Bandh. However, all these parties expressed their protest for the regular hike in fuel prices.
Meanwhile, State governments across the country braced for the bandh with senior officials reviewing the security measures and many States deciding to keep schools shut on Monday.
