In West Bengal’s West Midnapore district, the wife of a former Trinamool Congress member of the Kankabati gram panchayat was allegedly assaulted and forced to walk around the village wearing a garland of shoes by Trinamool activists. These activists were annoyed as this woman purportedly protesting against the party during the May 14 panchayat elections.
However, the woman said that she protested against booth capturing in her Bagdubi village by Trinamool activists on the polling day. And, it made them think that I was supporting the independent candidate. The woman has not yet gone for police complaint due to fear of Trinamool activists. Several Villagers were disgusted by this act too. But, none dare to protest out of fear.
This incident happened on Friday afternoon and it had triggered a wave of criticisms against Trinamool on social media.
