Yesterday, Indian women’s hockey team defeated three-time champions China in a fiercely-contested battle in Asian Games. Gurjit Kaur’s strike from a penalty corner in the 52nd minute was the single goal from the leading Indian team.
With this winning score tally of 1 – 0 in the last match, this women’s hockey team made its entry in the Asian Games final first time in the last 20 years.
Now, the Indian team will face the outstanding team of Japan in the final.
India coach Sjoerd Marijne said that team had not played that good in the first half in the semifinal match. But, they stepped up in the second half. But, I am really happy for these girls. Japan will be a tough challenge but this team is up for it.
