Wife of a top NSCN (K) cadre Gaising has been arrested by Imphal West district police commandos for her involvement in a kidnapping. Tanthaoliu Gonmei has been arrested in yesterday morning with thirteen lakhs rupees. She was returning from Shillong to Imphal. After getting a tip about her meeting with Gaising in Shillong, local police was on high alert.
A few days ago, an engineer of Bhartiya Infrastructure was abducted and there was a demand of Rs 20 lakh as ransom money. This woman was in Shillong to get part of the ransom money. Police have confirmed that she was aware of this kidnapping plan and got her share in the amount paid as ransom too.
