The South Central Railway (SCR) has released a statement on Wednesday regarding the viral video. A video is available on social media suggesting that a vendor uses water from train toilet to prepare tea and coffee. As per this recently released statement, the vending contractor has got a fine of Rs 1 lakh by the Indian Railways.
This viral video was recorded in the Chennai Central-Hyderabad Charminar Express at Secunderabad railway station in Hyderabad. It is almost a four month old video.
SCR chief public relations officer M Umashankar Kumar shared with the Press that an inquiry was conducted over this complaint. After that, this stringent action has been taken up against the Train Side Vending contractor for the section between Secunderabad and Kazipet. We are sincerely working at various levels to ensure that no such incidents recur in the SCR Zone.
