Yesterday, eight women organisations under the aegis of Kanglei Ima Lup (KIL) and Vendors at the surrounding areas of Waheng Leikai and Nagamapal areas shut down their daily trade till noon.
This half-day trade-cease strike was organized in protest against the possible implementation of Article 371(a) in Manipur as an outcome the Naga Framework Agreement.
R.K. Sanahanbi, president of KIL, shared with media that the central government should not try to disintegrate the unity within the different communities of Manipur. All parties should listen to the voice of the people and endeavour for the welfare of Manipur.
She further added that if they are not taking a firm decision in the upcoming assembly session then it will clarify their intentions. Of course, residents of the state will understand that the elected representatives are not supporting the movement of the people.
