Swapna Barman, the golden Jalpaiguri girl made everyone proud in the recent Asian Games. But, that wasn’t easy on that day.
Just before her competition began on Tuesday, she started writing from tooth pain. Her craving for chocolate could have ruined her dream. Swapna said, “I had severe pain in my right jaw and couldn’t take medication because of the stringent anti-doping rules. In fact, I wasn’t comfortable with this killing pain. But, I told myself that if I have to win, I’ll have to forget the pain. I was also nursing a right-knee injury and that too was troubling me.”
