The Naga People’s Front as the only regional political party in the state of Nagaland has not taken well the absurd remarks of Shashi Tharoor that tantamount to discrediting the traditional values and practices. Mr Shashi Tharoor had termed the ‘Naga Headgear ‘ as ‘Outlandish ‘ and ‘Hilarious’.
NPF had pointed out that Nagas have their own unique traditional practices. And unlike the ‘Skullcap’ that represents the Muslim religion, or the ‘Cow’ that represents the Hindu religious beliefs, the ‘Naga Headgear’ does not represent any religion for the Nagas.
To refer the Naga Headgear as ‘Outlandish’ is very unfortunate. The Naga People’s Front has called upon the Congress leader to tender an apology.
