Yesterday, Manipur’s Director, Health Services, K. Rajo has denied all the social media reports about Nipah virus in North-eastern states.
He shared that social media posts were claiming about some cases of Nipah in Meghalaya, but officials in the state denied any confirmed case. He added that an outbreak of the disease has happened in Kerala. It is right that several people from other states including Kerala are visiting the northeast region. But, northeast states had also geared up on precautionary measures.
K. Rajo also advised people to consume fruits after washing them carefully. In case, you notice low-grade fever in people coming from other states especially Kerala, rush to inform hospital officials.
He also said that we also have an arrangement of special isolation wards in Regional Institute of Medical Sciences and J.N. Institute of Medical Sciences located in Imphal.
