Measles outbreak at two villages in Churachandpur district has been officially declared. According to the official report, one child at K. Sinai village died of suspected Measles on June 5 last. Reports are also coming from Monglenphai village about the outbreak of this disease.
Considering this situation, the District Family Welfare Officer (DFWO), Churachandpur Dr. Jam Thianlal has decided to work upon prevention plan on a speedy level.  Additional director, FWS and state observer of MR Campaign, Dr Th. Somorendra Singh has also rushed to these villages to collect report as per the guidance of State Immunisation Officer (SIO).
Till the time, the reason behind this outbreak is identified as ‘vaccine resistance’ by the villagers.
Dr Jam Thianlal urged all concerned to vaccinate their children aged between 9 months to 15 years against Measles Rubella at the District Immunisation Office or any nearest PHCs which can be done every day.
