As per the letter from Human Resource Development director of the North Eastern Council (NEC), Kh Siile Anthony, Manipur Olympic Association will be blacklisted for embezzling funds.
North Eastern Council had given Rs 20 lakh for organising games in the northeastern states. This amount was to be utilized by 2017. However, NEC has not received any reports about organization of any sporting event in regard to the released fund. Considering this, NEC had even given a time frame to the concerned authorities to submit the utilization certificate and the report that the events were carried out, but no report was handed over to the NEC despite several requests.
Manipur Olympic Association is now blacklisted from future funding from the NEC. Not just this, MOA will also require to refund that amount with interest.
