On Friday, one Congress MLA was produced before the court of Special Judge, National Investigation Agency (NIA) in Imphal. He was allegedly involved in the case of the missing of arms and ammunition from the armoury of Director General of Police pool.
The NIA has been probing the case of missing 56 pistols and 58 magazines from the armoury of DGP pool. All these went missing between 2016 and early 2017.
In the NIA raid held on July 30, 2018, NIA recovered one of the missing pistols from the residence of this MLA. Congress MLA Yamthong Haokip represents Saikul assembly constituency in Kangpokpi district.
In this hearing, the court remanded MLA for 15 days in the judicial custody. As MLA is not feeling healthy and taking a treatment, he is likely to stay at the security ward of JNIMS hospital at Porompat.
