On Sunday, A collector of a district bordering Myanmar told media reporter that Indian Territory in this border area of Manipur has been encroached upon. In a survey of India, he noticed this and rejected it.
A Tombikanta who is the district collector for Tengnoupal district has pointed that he got complaints from residents of Kwatha Khunou village regarding shifting of boundary pillar No 81 three km inside Indian Territory. On the basis of the complaints, he enquired about the exact locations of the boundary pillars. Despite all this, he was under immense pressure to sign documents stating that there is no dispute over the territory and this pressure was from the state Home Department.
In response to this, he suggested the state government to cross-check the locations of boundary pillars No 82 and 83.
