On Tuesday, Delhi Police has arrested a father-son duo for allegedly duped a Delhi businessman. They promised to sell him a ‘rice puller’ and done a fraud of Rs 1.43 crore.
Naveen Gaur, an associate professor of physics at Delhi University’s Dyal Singh College has shared about the concept of ‘rice puller’ plate to a media person. According to the professor, it is a property gave it the power to attract rice grains and led to its demand at the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) as it could help generate energy too. These fraudsters were perhaps using basic magnetic principles to make their victims believe that the plate can actually attract rice grains.
Alok Kumar, joint commissioner of police (crime), said that we have arrested the duo after getting the complaint of the victim. They have been identified as Virender Mohan Brar, 56, and his 30-year-old son, Nitin Mohan. Police have also recovered that fake rice puller (a copper plate), fake Hazmat suits and other protective gears from them.
