“I will work for the betterment of the state till my last breath. If I have to sit on the other side (Opposition), it is okay. I will continue working for the betterment of the people. There will be many more elections.”
These were the words of BS Yeddyurappa as he decided to resign before the much talked about floor test in Karnataka Assembly.
Yes, BJP skipped the floor test. In his emotional speech, BS Yeddyurappa claimed that Congress and JD(S) indulged in opportunistic politics. People have chosen us by making us the largest party. I have dedicated my life for ‘Vikas’.
After that, Karnataka CM headed to the Governor’s house to submit his resignation.
Congress leader Gulam Nabi Azad said that All the MLAs resisted arm-twisting tactics by the central government. Our MLAs have recordings wherein the BJP leaders, including BSY, approached them and tried to lure them with money and positions. But our MLAs rejected all those offers. It is the victory of democracy.
JD(S)’ HD Kumaraswamy will be the next CM and oath-taking ceremony would be on 21st May.
