Yesterday, JCILPS student’s wing held a press conference at its Sega Road office and here, Manjit Sarangthem, convener of Joint Committee on Inner Line Permit System (JCILPS) students’ wing has announced that from today onwards, this student wing will keep an eye on illegal migrants coming in Manipur.
Manjit Sarangthem added that neighbouring state Assam is in a panic stage due to the declaration of the final draft of National Register of Citizens. Those people who are not on the list might attempt to migrate to the other states. To prevent them from entering into the state, AMSU has prepared to initiate checking of illegal migrants along national highway number 2 and 37.
Manjit further said that people should take the necessary steps to protect the identity of the state and prevent illegal migrants or immigrants from entering Manipur. On behalf of students’ wing, he also urged the Manipur government to strengthen its steps for the same.
