As per a press release issued by the Registrar, Gauhati University has come up with an initiative to inspire the younger generations of the State as well as the country. University has declared Rs 5 lakh as an incentive to IAAF World Under-20 Athletic Championships star, Hima Das for her historic record.
Prof Jagdish Mukhi, the Governor of Assam who is also following the proactive role of the Vice-Chancellor, Gauhati University, has declared this.
Gauhati University fraternity hailed this incentive decision considering the fact that Hima Das would be a role model for many and they will get inspired to do great works for the State as well as the country. Prof Jagdish Mukhi has expressed his happiness and showered blessings on her.
