GUWAHATI: The Congress legislator, Kamalakhya Dey hold the dead bodies of two SC males created the Pyre and practised the entire rituals together with the sons of the men. The two people belonging to Sarifnagar named Nishi Namasudra and Kulendra Namasudra died this Sunday morning due to their bad health conditions. Since the cremation area of the district is flooded, the final rituals were practised at Patelnagar. This was probably the only dry area of the palace and thereby around 4000 people residing in Karimganj migrated to this spot for their shelter.
According to Karnakhalya Dey statement, he received a call regarding the deaths of these two villagers. He rushed to the spot and started building up the pyre and prepared for the last rites of the dead men. He further added that the circumstances are worsening daily as the place is almost underwater. Besides that, around 290 villages in the district are suspected to remain flood-hit for a few days.
