IMPHAL | Jul 24: The three-member verification team that was sent by the Centre to undertake inspection of the controversial border pillar no. 81 could not reach the disputed area owing to their late arrival which was coupled with unexpected rainfall.
Three members verification team could not reach Kwatha as they first arrived pretty late and then unexpected rainfall caused concerns regarding their journey to the concerned point. This team has A.V Dharma Reddy Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA) (Border Management), Sripriya Ranganathan, joint secretary Ministry of External Affairs (Bangla-Myanmar) and Lt. General Girish Kumar, Surveyor General of India.
From 10 am onwards, the residents of Kwatha were also waiting for the verification team at Kwatha Lamkhai. The team arrived at Imphal Airport around 1 pm and reached Pallel at 2.10 pm.
However, this team took an inspection of 11 AR camp located at Muslim Basti, Integrated Check Post Gate no. 2, Moreh.
