Yesterday, the deputy commissioner of Churachandpur district has issued one notification. According to it, polythene or plastic bags will be completely banned in the area from May 27. If someone found violating this ban then he/she will be liable for penalties and it can be imprisonment up to five years and a fine of Rs One lac or both.
DC Shyam Lal Poonia shared with the media that we have reports from ADC and it indicated that over 1.86 lakhs plastic bags were consumed on daily basis in the district. We have signed one agreement with M/K Plastic for the supply of bio-degradable products to consumers on a need basis with an upper-cost limit of Rs.180 per Kg.
