On the occasion of World Environment Day, a Cherry Blossom Avenue was launched at Luwangsangbam by N Biren Singh. Manipur Chief Minister N. Biren Singh told that state government is going to impose ban on the use of plastic.
The chief minister also said that state government will soon issue a notice to instruct all the shopkeepers to replace plastics with alternative materials within three months.
Expressing serious concern over pollution and environmental degradation, the chief minister also assured that youth clubs and other voluntary organizations, whosoever is interested to take up waste management activities in their respective localities, would be financially supported.
He also urged the All Manipur DPC Completed Candidates of Police Constable (Male – 2013) to call off their agitation because the government will declare the results as soon as possible. The state government is working on this.
Mr Sahoo, Director IBSD, said that this initiative of a Cherry Blossom Avenue by IBSD will go a long way to bring Manipur on the global tourist map. This initiative will drive a huge number of tourists and will bring about sustainable development of the state.
