Air India will soon begin daily direct flights from New Delhi to Imphal from April. In the inauguration ceremony of 3rd International Convention of Service Industry NER(I)-ASEAN FOCUS CLMV, Manipur CM, N. Biren Singh shared this information in his speech.
The Chief Minister told that the Ministry of Civil Aviation has assured the State Government about it. He further added that State Government is working over acquisition of a hundred acres land near Tengnoupal area to build a world class resort for boosting tourism in the state. Both governments are concerned about future possibilities as Manipur is the gateway to South East Asian countries. Assam and Uttar Pradesh are following our footsteps and organizing events like NEDS 2017. Prime Minister has allocated funds to construct 39 big culverts in the areas of Indo-Myanmar border.
Chief Minister further added that we all should give our collective effort to be a part of the global movement for change. All the people of Manipur should commit to bring change in attitude and also in our behaviour.
This event was organised under the theme “Tapping Potential of Services Sector Catering to Domestic and International Demands” by Ministry of Commerce and Industry, International of Chamber for Service Industry and Manipur Infrastructure Development Agency (MIDA). On this special occasion, Ambassador of Union of Myanmar to India, Moe Kyan Aung was also present. He said that better air connectivity between both countries, free flow of trade and services can really be important contributors in realizing the dreamed economic relationship between various ASEAN countries.
