On Tuesday midnight, Narcotic and Affairs of Border (NAB) police and Imphal West district police arrested Autonomous District Council (ADC) chairman of Chandel district with seven persons along with drugs estimated to be worth over Rs. 27 crores in the international market.
NAB officials shared that the joint team initially arrested the driver of the ADC chairman, Thangminlun Zou and following his disclosure, the team arrested ADC and his seven associates. They would be produced before the court to seek police custody.
The ADC chairman, Lhukhoser Zou alias Shesei Zou, was elected as the member of district council from Congress ticket and later joined the BJP to form the local body government in Chandel. Meanwhile, BJP Manipur Pradesh president, K. Bhabananda has expelled him from BJP for anti-social activities.
