In Odisha’s Cuttack district, a six year old girl was raped in a school by her neighbour. On Saturday evening, she has slipped into the coma. Hospital superintendent said that the girl has deep injuries on her face and her brain.
The investigating police officer has told that accused allegedly choked her and banged her face on the school wall three times. Then he left her there, thinking she had died. Forensic report of her condition is yet to be received. As doctors treating the child said her there were injuries on her private parts. Police have arrested this 25-year-old man and filed the case of rape, attempt to murder and under the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act. Court has denied bail for the accused and he is now in police remand.
On Monday, Odisha health minister Pratap Jena also visited the hospital and announced that state government will take care of her treatment cost.
