Indian Army has employed over 20,000 soldiers in the exercise Vijay Prahar some 300 km from the closest Pakistani border post. According to an Army spokesperson, this is a military drill with state of the art force multipliers in the Mahajan Field Firing Ranges close to Suratgarh. This month-long drill is going to conclude on May 9. The motive behind this exercise is to enhance jointmanship and integration between the Indian Air Force and the Army.
The spokesperson further added that this exercise is to enhance our strength while having high tempo joint air and land operation involving hundreds of aircraft and tanks. This whole drill is also supported by real time intelligence, surveillance and just in time logistic support. This is to give practice the troops in hurdles across the obstacle ridden terrain under a nuclear umbrella.
