With a comfortable win over Italy in the pre-quarter cross-over match in London, Indian women’s hockey team has advanced to the quarter-finals.
With a positive start and consistently keeping possession without taking any extra risks in the first few minutes, the Indian team has comfortably made it. Lalremsiami, Neha Goyal and Vandana made these three goals.
In the first quarter, Lalremsiami took advantage of the chaotic defence and placed Indian team in a good position.
The second quarter saw India take control of the game and dictated the flow of the game. They went into half-time with their lead intact.
India got a penalty corner towards the end of the third quarter. But, it wasn’t converted into the second goal. During a scramble at the goal-mouth towards the end of the quarter, Neha Goyal pushed the ball into the goal. The final quarter was mostly counted as no goal time zone. However, Indian team scored their third goal to round off a dominant performance.
