Every Friday, many people come in Indian Territory via Jiribam through train by posing as tourists. Jiribam District Police is also conducting verification of these people. This is required to have a check over influx of illegal migrants.
As per the report of a news agency, police found 52 persons travelling without valid ID documents or travelling tickets in the last Friday’s inspection. Among these 52 people, there are ten women and ten children also. All of them have claimed that they are here in India for sight-seeing at Jiribam and Vangaichungpao.
Jiribam District Police investigated further and noted that there was no information available with the Railway authority regarding the movement of the passengers. They were also not having any sort of permission from the state and district administration.
Considering the possibility of those migrants staying back in the state, Jiribam District Police pushed them out of the border. On August 10, 37 passengers were also pushed back as they were not having proper documents with them.
