He was just four minutes late to enter for Union Public Services Commission (UPSC) examination. Thus, he was not allowed to give the examination.
28-year-old Varun Subhash Chandran went home and hanged himself.
On Sunday morning, he was to appear for UPSC’s preliminary written exam. When he reached Sarvodaya Bal Vidyalaya in Paharganj. And, the time was 9.24am. Rules for UPSC examination says no candidate will be allowed entry to the examination hall after 9.20 and so, he was turned away.
Preliminary investigations revealed that Chandran was depressed over this issue. The police inspected Chandran’s room and also, found a suicide note in his notebook confirming the same.
